Our Mission

The Austin Illini Club organizes events where local U of I Alumni can gather to watch Illini sports, speak with Illini professors or other speakers related to the U of I, and generally just get together with other Illini to share memories and interests.

Austin Illini is the club for University of Illinois (U of I) graduates living in Austin Texas.  We watch Illinois football and Illinois basketball games together and get together for other events.  In Austin, University of Illinois graduates are members of the Austin Illini club.  Some of us do not like Illini sports and simply enjoy gathering with others from Illinois simply to share U of I memories.  But we all graduated from the University of Illinois.  We officially support the Chief, although, given that we do live in Austin, some of our members do not support the Chief.  

 In Austin, University of Illinois (U of I) graduates are members of the Austin Illini club.  Austin Illini is the club for University of Illinois  graduates living in Austin Texas.  We watch Illinois football and Illinois basketball games together and get together for other events. We officially support Chief Illiniwek, although, given that we do live in Austin, some of our members do not support Chief Illiniwek.  Some of us do not like U of I sports and simply enjoy gathering with others from Illinois simply to share U of I memories.  But we all graduated from the U of I as fellow Illini.  

We gather to watch Illinois football and Illinois basketball games together and sometimes get together for other non-sports events.  In Austin, we hope that all University of Illinois graduates are members of the Austin Illini club.  Some of us do not like Illinois sports and simply enjoy gathering with others from Illinois simply to share U of I memories.  The Austin Illini club is the official club for University of Illinois graduates living in Austin Texas.  But we all graduated from the University of Illinois.  We officially support the Chief Illini, although, given that we do live in Austin, the only Texas sanctuary for leftist thought, some of our members do not support Chief Illiniwek.
