| The Austin Illini get together for various social events and talks with speakers related to the University. In November 2004, Marching Illini Band Director Tom Caneva spoke to our group at a local restaurant. In January 2005, Gordon and Betty Hamilton opened their home to us for a catered dinner. In March 2005, Professor Tom Ulen, a Law and Economics professor at U of I and a very personable guy, came to Austin to speak with us about the economic impact of globalization.
